Who? Me? Jealous?

Jealousy. It is one sin or short-coming we rarely ever talk about, but it is real and happens almost everywhere, and we all have to deal with it, both in ourselves and in others. Jealousy is rooted in our natural fears and insecurities. It has damaged relationships since the time of Cain and Abel, and still does today.
Jealousy can either be healthy or unhealthy.
Healthy jealousy is a means to guard your territory and comes from a sincere care and commitment to a relationship. On the other hand, unhealthy jealousy manifests itself through lies, threats, self-pity, and feelings of inadequacy, inferiority and insecurity.
Unhealthy jealousy stems from comparing yourself to others and feeling inadequate, unimportant, inferior and pitiful. in other words, counting others blessings instead of yours.
For example in marriage, A chronically jealous spouse will try to control a relationship through exaggeration, self-pity, lies, threats and/or manipulation. When the other partner resists, the jealous person reacts by becoming even more controlling.
When jealousy becomes unhealthy it is destructive and frustrating to contend with. Love is not jealous and possessive. True love enables you to aim for what is best for the other person – not what is best for you. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
1 Corinthians 13:4 "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it his not arrogant"

Philippians 2:3 "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves".
James 3:14-15 "But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic".
James 4:2 "You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel.
Proverbs 27:4 "Wrath is cruel, anger is overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?
James 3:16 "For where jealousy and self-ambition exists, there will be disorder and every vile practice."
