He was arrested for an alleged attempted carjacking while naked and high on PCP bit off his own finger and swallowed it while he was being held in jail Sunday night, police say.
According to the Jersey Journal Police apprehended the man in Jersey City on Sunday night after he had stripped naked and started pounding his fists on cars and screaming. Police restrained him and brought him to a medical center, where he was cleared physically and psychologically.

While in a holding cell, the man spit at police officers and ate a medical bracelet before trying to chew on his wrists in an attempt to free himself from handcuffs, the Journal reported. He was brought back to the medical center and again cleared. On the way to the jail, the man defecated in the back of a police cruiser
And back in the cell, he bit off one of his fingers and swallowed it, police said. PCP, or phencyclidine, is a drug that can cause hallucinations, paranoia and rage. .
